I want to replace the Laminate Benchtop and cupboards in my kitchen, but i would like to know if i can have a high gloss finish, or is that still not suitable for a benchtop?

Answer

Technology has advanced and you can now have high gloss laminate benchtops. However to prevent any scratches, it is advised that you take care of the benchtop by using a chopping board, not putting hot sausepans directly onto it etc. There are some high gloss laminates that are particularly for vertical use only, such as cupboards and splashbacks, so be aware of what you are looking at to avoid disappointment if you choose a laminate and cannot use it on the benchtop.
