Heating Alternatives - Brad from Mt Eliza

Question

Our home is quite cold and damp so we are looking at heating options. We know a little bit about Gas fires and we have heard about pellet fires, can you tell us more and do you have companies that can help us at your centre?

Answer

Hi Brad, gas fires are a great product because you can turn an existing fire place into a gas fire easily. You can install a gas fire virtually anywhere you like in a huge range of styles, such as authentic looking wood fires, pebble fires & coal look fires.

Pellet fires are a very environmentally friendly alterantive using compacted saw dust, a bi-product of the timber industry to fuel the fire. It is as easy as pressing on a button to start the fire and pressing the button again to turn off, no fuss. They are available in both a traditional free-standing unit and also in a stylish fireplace insert model. A pellet fire uses approx one ton of pellets whereas wood fire would use approx 5 or more ton of timber. Hope this helps.
