Building a Pergola - Amanda from Tooradin
Question
I am looking at adding a pergola/entertainment area onto the back of my house. I know that there are two options with building materials including timber and steel, but am not sure which material is best to use. Could you please tell me the benefits of both. Would you also have companies that use both materials in your centre? Thank you.
Answer
Amanda both materials have their benefits, Steel is termite proof, fire resistant, does not warp or rot, does not need to be painted and is easy to clean. Timber looks great, is natural, many varities, and can be painted or treated to virtually any colour. It really depends upon what look you are after and what your opinion of each material is to which option you choose.
