Home Energy Ratings

An energy rating (5 star or above) is mandatory to get a building permit for all new homes and most extensions, renovations and alterations.

Also, many councils are now asking for sustainable design assessment reports before approving town planning development applications.

EcoResults can help you with all residential sustainability consulting including:
- House energy ratings
- Accredited thermal performance assessmentsEcoResults Pic
- Sustainable design assessments for town planning
- STEPS reports
- STORM assessment
- Building Code of Australia compliance reports
- Environmentally sustainable design consulting

An EcoResults assessment will help your new home or renovation to be as environmentally efficient as possible. An eco-friendly home is cooler in summer and warmer in winter, costing much less to heat and cool.

Since 2005, it has been a goverment requirement that all new homes require a 5 star energy rating to ensure energy efficiency. In 2011 the requirement will increase to a 6 star rating.

EcoResults accredited consultants can assess your design to ensure that you comply with the regulations. We then stamp the plans and issue a thermal performance assessment (energy rating) report for you to include with your building permit application.
Since 2008 extensions and alterations also need to be assessed and comply with the energy efficiency. EcoResults will assess your extension/alteration and issue a report detailing what is required to comply with the Building Code of Australia's energy efficiency requirements.

Our thermal performance assessment and energy rating services are:
- Fast
- Reliable
- Accredited
- Inexpensive
- Available Victoria-wide
- Great for the environment
